Workshops
Writers Workshop – The Young Writers Summer Workshop is an intensive two-week workshop for intellectually curious, motivated students who are eager to develop their creative and critical abilities with language—to become better, more productive writers and more insightful thinkers. We will Read ” The Boy who Harnessed the Wind” and publish a book report using the four basic writing skills:
- -Narrative
- -expository
- -descriptive
- -persuasive
Would You Like Half?” Fractions and Proportional Reasoning – This workshop uses everything from recipes to graphing technology to explore how fractional relationships lay the groundwork for proportional reasoning. Folding, cutting, drawing, and graphing will remind students what fractions actually are and how to use them. Open to students who have completed 5th grade or higher (including high schoolers) who have studied all four basic fraction operations but would benefit from review and expansion.
